Today's class was a lot more hands on. I think the biggest problem I had was my introduction to firewire. I had never heard of it before, but I tend to be PC compatible more than Apple or MAC. I get the feeling that may be a problem since Apple's have focused on the education market.
It was fun to wander around to all the different stations and identify the different parts - again firewire was my downfall. My partners were excited and they both tended to start at different ends of the group and were both telling me (the writer) what the things were. I was having to write quickly to keep up with them so I know that my handwriting was barely legible.
Is my handwriting going to need to be legible as a teacher or do I get to do printouts of everything??

Yes, I also did enjoy the stations very much. I am such a kinesthetic that this lesson was "user friendly." I have a Mac and I love it. I was glad to hear some positive comments about it.
There are actually no Macs at all in our school system, unless the yearbook staff has them (I think they may, actually). Most school systems are more likely to be PC than Mac, because Apple had a long dry spell between the Apple II series and the first Mac, just at the time when many schools were getting their first real computer labs and incorporating computer use into libraries. This is especially true at the high school level. I know that at our school, most students take a keyboarding class early on (9th or 10th grade)that incorporates the basics of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and all our classrooms, computer labs, and library computers are PC equipped.
