Well, it has been an interesting Christmas for me. Instead of being able to have a really nice Christmas and get a fabulous gift for everyone, I was laid off work and the money I had saved for Christmas will now have to get us through the next year. I will be able to file a claim for unemployment so we will hopefully have at least a small income to keep us going.
The reason I am not crying is because this is actually going to be a great thing. This means that I will be able to take all of my education classes in the next six months and finish them at roughly the same time we finish our master's program. Then I will be able to do my student teaching this fall and will be a full fledged teacher librarian in one short year. This assumes that I survive going to college full time and that the money holds out for me to concentrate on school without having to worry about trying to find a part or full time job.
