I hope everyone is having some fun today and has a chance at least for a touch of romance. I spent my morning interviewing Mr. Daniel for one of my EDU assignments. It was so much fun to have a chance to talk with him. He has been a principal for so long and he has seen so much that is good and bad. I think the most astonishing thing that came out of the interview was his attitude towards teen romance. He strongly advocates for teachers to take the romantic relationships into account when determining behavior issues because those relationships are vitally important to the teens. I personally prefer to avoid drama and I have a hard time connecting to people who live on the extreme outside of their skin so this may be a bit of a challenge.
He also discussed the difference between being a librarian and a keeper of books and how important a good librarian is since the library is the center of the school - and not just in the geographical sense. It is a real shame that he is retiring. He sounds like the administrator that you want to have in your corner.
